WEEKLY REFLECTION-VIII

(20/01/2025 - 24/01/2025) This week marked the final phase of my teaching practice, consisting of five working days. The week began with a Monday morning assembly conducted by the students of Class 9A. I conducted an Achievement Test in Class 8B, covering the chapters Construction of Quadrilaterals and Ratio. During this week, I also prepared and implemented my action plan as part of my Action Research project. I observed that some students struggled with solving problems related to ratio, which helped me identify my focus area. Given the limited time, I executed my action plan effectively, and it significantly aided the students in solving mathematical word problems. Throughout these sessions, the students were active, engaged, and responded positively. The ICT-based classes particularly captured their attention and enhanced their learning experience. Additionally, I assisted in various scholastic and co-scholastic activities held at the school. I also handled several substitutio...

WEEKLY REFLECTION-VII

[13/1/2025 -17/1/25] This marks the seventh week of my teaching practice, and it has been an engaging and fulfilling experience. Due to certain adjustments in the schedule, there were only four working days this week. During these days, I conducted five classes, each of which provided an opportunity to enhance my teaching skills and connect with the students. of the key highlights of this week was completing the section Ratio - three quantities and thirtyth lesson template successfully and satisfactorily. On monday, the school assembly was conducted by the students of class VIII D . It was a well-organized event that showcased their talents and leadership skills.  Additionally, the week involved some special responsibilities. As part of the assigned duties, I was entrusted with assisting in the arrangements for the Junior Red Cross (JRC) exams, which took place on Friday. Overall, this week was a blend of teaching, learning, and fulfilling additional responsibilities. The sev...

WEEKLY REFLECTION-VI

Image
[6/1/25 -10/1/25] This week began with a Monday morning assembly where the Headmaster congratulated the state Kalolsavam winners. I adopted a constructivist approach to teach the concept of quadrilaterals and completed the chapter. The ICT-based class on ratios was enjoyable, and I also conducted a diagnostic test on Thursday to assess students' understanding. On Friday, the school organized the "Sugatha Sukshma Vannam" program, an initiative to plant trees, which was inaugurated by Central Minister Murugan. I used an inquiry-based teaching method for the concept of ratios, focusing on "changing times." The week also included substitution classes and the midday meal program. Overall, the week went satisfactorily, balancing teaching, activities, and initiatives.

SUGATHA SUKSHMA VANAM

9/1/2025 The school recently organized a grand event titled " Sugathaa Sukshma vanam", focused on planting trees to promote environmental awareness. The event was inaugurated by the central master, Mr. Murugan, and attended by distinguished guests, including Kummanam Rajasekharan and other notable dignitaries. As part of the initiative, Mr. Murugan and other guests planted a tree on the school grounds, symbolizing the start of the project. Following the tree planting, students participated in a variety of cultural programs, including captivating dance performances and melodious songs that celebrated nature. The event concluded successfully at 12:30 pm, leaving a positive and lasting impression on all those in attendance.

WEEKLY REFLECTION-V

30/12/2024 - 03/01/2025 This week was a blend of planned lessons, unexpected challenges, and meaningful interactions. The days started with morning assemblies that set a positive tone, featuring themes like perseverance and gratitude. In my scheduled classes, I focused on incorporating interactive teaching methods, which encouraged students to participate actively. Substitution classes provided opportunities to connect with students from other grades, allowing me to adapt and explore different teaching approaches. The midday meal breaks were moments of observat ion and informal conversations with students and fostering a sense of connection. A significant event this week was the PTA meeting,  with parents to discuss students' progress and improvement. I feel a sense of accomplishment in balancing academic goals and personal interactions.  Morning Assembly  Classroom session Serving lunch

INNOVATIVE WORK

Image
Innovative work in mathematics refers to creative and original contributions that advance the field by introducing new concepts, methods, theories, or applications. It often involves solving previously unsolved problems, finding novel connections between existing mathematical ideas, or developing new tools that enhance our understanding of mathematical structures and their real-world applications.  I have created a working model based on the chapter "Construction of Quadrilaterals" as part of the fourth-semester B.Ed curriculum (2023–2025). This model demonstrates the various types of quadrilaterals covered in the chapter. The working method is designed as a "match the following" activity, where students identify each quadrilateral, match it with its correct name, and verify their choice. This interactive approach helps students analyze the properties of quadrilaterals, enabling them to identify and understand each type more effectively.
